Public Service vs. Sense of Entitlement

One thing that really bothers me is when people in public office - elected or appointed - develop a sense of entitlement. They seem to think that the rules governing the rest of us do not apply to them. Their behavior sometimes reveals their belief that the amount of time they put into their job and the self-perceived sacrifices they have made entitle them to special treatment.
